darth_hamster and I are off trekking at Cannock Chase this afternoon, as part of a trip organised by one of my fellow members of chambers (he thought it would be fun if we sat on horses for a change instead of just wearing bits of their hair.)

darth_hamster has spent a lot of time on horses. I have never been on one in my life. I've been promised one suitable for a (large) beginner, but this could be entertaining...

Last time I was on a horse (for the first time in over 10 years) I ached the day after - although it was also my first time riding a bike in over 10 years, and the combination was probably not good.

But it was also a lot of fun, and hopefully you'll enjoy it!

bytepilot insists riding sidesaddle makes much more sense for gents than ladies. He also opines that horses are a big hairy bundle of psychoses.
