BBC: "Text death sentence up for review"
Blimey. I know it's annoying to get a 'U C ME L8R' message (actually, it only seems to be my local gym that goes in for trying to look cool in this way) but I'm not sure that we should go that far.
Joking aside though, am I right to be a little concerned by the comment that 'The decision to look at the case came after complaints from the public.'
I thought that the Court of Appeal reviewed sentences as being too lenient on the application of the Crown Prosecution Service or perhaps the victim or victim's family. If the AG is going to respond to complaints from the public, how long before we have, in effect, sentencing by web comment?
