I love the stunning sense of space in these mosques. I have vivid memories of my own visit and I'm really looking forward to your photos of hte Blue Mosque - it gave me an interest in Islamic tile work that has lasted to this day.

Unfortunately we weren't able to get inside the main part of the Blue Mosque owing to enormous queues, so we made do with the courtyard (impressive enough in its own right).

The pictures I've got coming are mainly of the archaeological museum. We spent a couple of hours having a very superficial look; I've warned ladymoonray that when swisstone takes her she should brace herself for the all-day guided tour. Which I'd love to hear T give, by the way.
