One of those utterly trivial things that occasionally bugs me: identifying a film I saw years and years ago on TV.

My vague memory of the plot is that the central character was an analyst recruited to meet with someone important (a politician? a spy? I can't recall) at a secret location. Every time he meets, he is blindfolded and taken on a long and complex journey involving a flight on a private jet and a car ride to a hidden location. Then the meetings stop, and he becomes convinced that something bad has happened, but he has no idea where his patient is. So, with the aid of the female lead, he manages to retrace the journey he has become familiar with. One of the plot points I do recall is that he realises the sound he hears at one point is that of flocks of geese, so localising the search area to a zone where the geese migration path crosses the circle given by the rough duration of his flight.

From what I remember of the style I would say it was mid-1960s in era. It's not The President's Analyst as the plot is very different. Any suggestions?

EDIT: That didn't take long! [livejournal.com profile] cobrabay has ID'd it as Blindfold, a somewhat obscure 1965 film starring Rock Hudson.

Sounds like "Blindfold" with Rock Hudson.

Yes, the IMDB synopsis http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058977/ doesn't help much, but the user comments nail it down.

Amusingly that scene is referenced in the classic hacker caper movie Sneakers, where Robert Redford's character tries to recall the route to Cosmo's hideout...

which may well the the scene that Sneakers is referencing when Redford is in the trunk of the car going past the 'cocktail party'
