In Memoriam, Iraq Sep 06 to Feb 07 - plus one

A year ago I was in Iraq. My tour there lasted from 25 Sep 06 to 4 Feb 07; during that time, British units based at Basra lost the following personnel. I remember these losses well; for most of them I attended the repatriation ceremonies as they were sent home.

Although he died well after I left I am listing him here because whereas the others I name above were not personally known to me, I worked with Nick - albeit briefly - in the same section at Divisional HQ.

Off now to the Remembrance Ceremony at the university.

Our friends are not dead while we remember them.

I'm still Jewish enough to light the candles for my friends although I can't help wondering what my much loved atheist and agnostic pair would have thought.
