Pale Tree

On a train ride through the Kent countryside I caught sight of a dead tree standing like a pale skeleton against the wood behind. Separating the tree from the background was possibly the fiddliest bit of Photoshop work I've ever done, but it let me play around with different ways of emphasising the elements of the picture. Not sure how well this attempt works, but it is vaguely hinting at what I was trying to achieve.

Until you said that it was a dead tree I thought it might just be one that had grown oddly to show its structure from one side or something. It looks almost like a painting, nice work. It is too bad that it is one of those fiddly pictures, otherwise it would make a killer icon.

I've got a long, long way to go before I get anywhere near that good. And I doubt very much if I could compete on the Goth Babe front either... :-)
