Wibblings from the vegetable patch
May. 29th, 2005 08:24 pmI think I need a new set of LJ Moods and accompanying icons, tailored to indicate exactly how much of a vegetable I am. Right now, my mood would definitely be 'Turnip' - I am pooped, have come down with a mild cold and for most of today have been good for little more than catching up with the end of the 1st series West Wing DVD that Caro loaned us ages ago.
(And now I understand why
bugshaw has been so keen for me to finish it. She finished watching it ages ago and has been desperate to find out how the cliffhanger gets resolved ever since! Well, now we can give S1 back and scrounge/beg/steal series 2.)
Was rather less of a vegetable yesterday, and went to help
fjm with the Great Unpacking And Shelving. Warm work - thanks for the beer! - but it is so very satisfying to see boxes empty and shelves full.
bugshaw and I later went with Caro to see the Anglia Poly U production of Little Shop of Horrors. I'd forgotten that the stage version has a different ending to the 1986 film! (Apparently its original ending followed the 1960 Roger Corman original and the subsequent musical, but was changes as preview audiences hated it). Great fun, although it was rather unfortunate that the actor playing Orin the Dentist looked the part, acted perfectly, and then sang about three notes off all the way through...
Home to video of Dr Who. Definitely one of the highlights of the season, with some scenes genuinely quite creepy, and some cracking lines. Not too sure about next week's episode from the trailer, though - who on earth decided to bring back a baddie after only half a dozen episodes?
Yawn... will try to write more meaningful stuff soon.
