Now, Pay Attention 007...
Apr. 30th, 2005 12:18 amThe latest in tactical surveillance equipment: the Remington Eye Ball.
Yeah, basically it's a wireless webcam in an olive-green softball, with the added gimmick of a rotating base to let it peek around once you've tossed it into the area of interest. But I think what I like so much about this is that it out-and-out looks like something a Hollywood props department would come up with for a medium-budget action movie.
One problem does occur to me, however. If you were a potentially jumpy and aggressive suspect holed up with a bunch of hostages, and the police threw something small and round into your hidey-hole, would you assume it was:
a) A stun grenade, heralding the arrival of the SWAT team.
b) A tear-gas grenade, ditto (but with respirators)
c) A bog-standard hand grenade, which would actually be a very stupid thing for anyone to throw in, but hey, you're probably not thinking clearly right now
d) A cure little rolling webcam to give the cops a warm reassured feeling that they're in control of the situation.
