As Science Programme Area Head for Interaction, I'm pleased to say that it's now official and public: Professor David Southwood, ESA's Director of Science, is going to be our Special Guest for the science stream.

He's an excellent speaker - gave excellent UG lectures whilst I was at IC, too.

Bah. I think he gave one lecture when I was an undergrad, which I faintly remember as being decent. It's all so long ago now, and it's fading fast as I moved into computing after graduation. My physics level is now somewhere around GCSE and plummeting further with each passing day.

Happens to everyone. Apparently, we regress slightly slower than we acquired the knowledge in the first place. So the average 30-something with GCSE Science recalls about what they knew after a year in primary school... :-)
