A purely commercial decision, no doubt.

My copy of Master and Commander is already in the post to me, and there is not a momenr to be lost.

It should last me until The Return of the King, in late May, though I have to review the earlier material, I think.

I'm also being tempted by Kill Bill though I am doubtful about The Matrix Regurgitated

The region 1 DVD will be out before it arrives in the UK, probably, and I'm sure you have a multiregion player and good screen...

Well, yes, but there are some films you want to see on the big screen.

Hellboy really does look like it might be the definitive Really Good Adaptation of a Really Good Comic. It helps no end of course that the director is a fan of the comic and that the comic's writer has been deeply involved in the film. Even so, the propensity for Hollywood to screw this sort of thing up is almost infinite so I'm delighted to see that Mignola and del Toro seem to have brought it to screen pretty much intact.

That is so annoying. Quite why England gets the total shaft on movies I've no idea.

Look at it this way, you'll just be able to buy it on DVD rather then go to the cinema!

tee hee

Not neccessarily a bad thing

Generally the amount of delay just means there are fewer prints around, so big blockbusters can open simultaneously on both sides of the Atlantic where as smaller films generally take longer. Of the films I saw in Canada last year Underworld opened at the same time yet American Splendour took about 4 months. Note which of these 2 was a good film. Although we've had quite a few great blockbusters recently generally they fall into that category of films known as bad.
The strange thing is how they seem to ship the trailer reels around really quickly so I've already caught the Hellboy trailer at the cinema even hough the release is ages away yet.
