My back's gone. Anyone seen it?
Oct. 12th, 2003 07:35 pmServes me right for comparing wallpapering to an extreme sport. I can't really believe it was the papering wot dunnit; more likely one of my occasional bad back spells was exacerbated by a busy weekend.
[The papering went very well, BTW, with the enthusiastic assistance of
groliffe and Caro, to whom Huge Thanks. We got a whole wall done, including difficult bits like sockets and a height change in the ceiling.]
Anyway, my back was fairly painful this afternoon, so I went to lay down and read for a couple of hours. When I came to get up, I couldn't, at least not without someone seemingly trying to put an axe through the small of my back. Eventually I got into a chair, and being upright actually seems to help matters, although all I can do for now is a slow shuffle. This really has to get better soon though, as I have a very busy week ahead handing over my job and then chairing an SFF committee meeting down in London. What timing...

And ibuprofen works wonders..
