Even though it wasn't specifically built for that purpose, I wouldn't be surprised if they did have gladiatorial shows in the theatre - they often did.

Yes my pix of Orange look pretty good too - Provence was pretty damn photogenic. The ones of Fontaine de Vaucluse are even better - must get scanner!
