Xbox hacked... by Microsoft
Sep. 18th, 2003 07:44 pmI own an Xbox, which
bugshaw very kindly gave to me as a birthday present last year. I've made much less use of it than I would like, as we have had rather a lot to occupy our time this year, although I thoroughly enjoyed Halo.
However, seeing as I'll be working away from home during the week in my next assignment, I expect I'll get rather more time to play with it. One thing I won't be doing, though, is plugging it into a broadband connection. No matter how tempting the idea of online gaming is, I do not want Microsoft snooping and possibly modifying my Xbox without my permission.
I somehow can't help but imagine the boards of Microsoft, SCO and the RIAA meeting in a Dr Evil style Secret HQ to practise maniacal evil laughter whilst totting up their scores for Cyber Bastard Of The Week.
