Following more discussion with various BSFA Bods, it now seems that my last post was wrong and The Unsilent Library is eligible for nomination in the Best Non-Fiction BSFA Award category after all. However, individual essays within the book are also eligible, and indeed you can nominate both the book and one or more specific essays if you like.

OK, that's quite enough from me on the subject for the time being...

You mean they changed the rules on this AGAIN!? It's getting ridiculous...

The rules haven't been changed - since Donna took over, and I think before, they have allowed the nomination of any single piece of non-fiction, whether it be of book or chapter length, or whatever. Since one can nominate as often as one wants, then it stands to reason that one can, if one chooses, nominate an entire edited collection, or nominate individual chapters.
