The disturbance was hitting the local news yesterday and the police were "refusing to comment". Probably because they were hoping they could come up with a more convincing cover story.

There was a plastic traffic policeman in typical "about to use a radar gun" pose by the side of the road near a busy roundabout on my way home last night. Good placement, because it could be seen from quite a distance if you were coming off the flyover over Edgeware road, prompting a lot of people (including me) to slow down before it became obvious it was a dummy.
