Some nine years ago I, together with a group of intrepid co-investigators (including bugshaw, purpletigron, purplecthulhu, del_c and vicarage, plus G WINOLJ) undertook a practical research project later written up in a prestigious science journal:

An Appraisal of the Utility of a Chocolate Teapot

Going through some old emails, I am reminded that a little while back the Open University replicated our research - and filmed it!

Of course it's a citation. They clearly gave the web address of the original article and mentioned you by name.

1. I take it "useless as a chocolate teapot" is a common figure of speech in your country? I've never heard it over here. (Googles: about 23,600 hits for the phrase in quotes.)

2. Some years ago, at a reunion of former beam jockeys, I learned what people will remember when my funeral comes along: they will be discussing the Twinkie experiment.
