New Watchmen footage (potential spoilers)

Shown on US television last night; a lot of this is from the current trailer, but there's plenty of new material.

The one problem I can see is that 'faithfulness to the original' may have reached the point where fans will be going along with copies of the graphic novel checking off each panel as it appears on screen...

(Having said that, this does suggest at least one element I don't recall from the original.)

Well, one change is to The Comedian's costume, in that it looks like the film avoids the 'Gimp Mask' he wore, although IIRC he only adopted that look post-Vietnam.

Actually, it was the nuclear explosion I was thinking of, which I don't think is in the book. (I must get a new copy so that I can check these things).

No, the nuclear explosion is in there; it's in a dream that Dreiberg/Nite Owl has around the time when he first gets together with Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre.

yep, that;s in Dans dream, and you are right about the gimp mask, thats later, on Vietnam he has no mask, I was looking at the original comic artwork for that very page today in Harrods.

I think the original comedian, all bright cotume had a domino mask
