Clear skies, in the UK, for an astronomical event - it can happen!





Canon 70D with 70-300 IS zoom lens, ISO 1600, f/5.6, 1/2 s. Taken with 10s delay to let the vibrations from pressing the shutter release die down! I'm pleasantly surprised how many stars are visible.

Very nice! I was up early enough this morning to see it just past totality. But too cold-ridden (again) to bother trying for a photo.

Oh, and if you're thinking of trying this sort of thing again, investing in a remote control would help eliminate shake.

Fabulous picture! M and me set alarm, but skies in Cambridge had some light cloud. We could see the orange lovely, but through a light haze.

I completely forgot about it, which is NOT like me. But if I'm getting the time and position in the sky right it would have probably been behind a neighbour's tree anyway.
