Sep. 16th, 2008 08:58 amI'm not sure why physicists spent so much money building the LHC to recreate the temperatures and pressures of the Big Bang; the Central Line journey from Bank to Chancery Lane does an equally good job.
Mind you, my usual tactic of DLR+tube in then bus home may have to be amended, at least for as long as the latest version of the roadworks at Aldgate continue. Last night a 45-50 minute journey took an hour and a half, whilst I noticed this morning that Commercial Road was already solid all the way down to Westferry.
Or I could try cycling. As I heard one of my fellow students noting, not only does it keep the beer-belly at bay, but the daily near-death experience is cheaper than coffee...
