More young birds trying to be cute

major_clangerWhen my mother came up to visit last weekend, I made sure to take her on a walk through Canary Wharf - partly to admire the architecture, and partly to give her a chance to see some of our residents.
Great Crested Grebe with what was clearly her second clutch of eggs, as there was a chick hanging around...
I have no idea what it was doing, and by the looks of it I don't thing Mum did either.
Perhaps it was angling to be turned into some sort of LOLCat...?
After a while, it tried looking more conventionally cute.
...perhaps inspired by this other Grebe chick we found further up the dock.
