Now that I'm in London I'm on the lookout for Edifying and Stimulating things to do (plus Fun and Enlarging my Social Circle things too). I've come across Gresham College and its programme of events, and in particular there are two coming up that I think quite a few people on my f-list will be interested in:
3rd April, 1pm: The Search for Extra-Terrestial Intelligence in the New Millennium, Prof Ian Morrison.
29th April, 6pm: Cosmic Imagery: Key Images in the History of Science, Prof John D Barrow.
and then the biggie:
8th May, 1.30pm-5.30pm: Symposium: Science Fiction as a Literary Genre, with Neal Stephenson, John Clute, Dr Roger Luckhurst, Andy Sawyer, Dr Martin Willis and Professor Tim Connell.
This last one you need to register for, although tickets are free. A bit wary that they might disappear fast I ordered two, so I have a spare going if anyone can't get a ticket of their own. So who else might be up for coming along to this?
