American Air Day at Duxford

Yesterday Duxford put on a mini air show to mark the tenth anniversary of the opening of the American Air Museum hanger. US aircraft old and new were on display or flying, as were some of Duxford's stalwarts such as the Spitfires and the pleasure-flight Dragon Rapides - one of which has a registration that will amuse akicif.

And please forgive my ignorance, but is your userpic something specific or is it just an adaptation of the normal roundel? I keep wondering this every time I see it.

It's swiped from Warren Ellis' brilliant alternate-history graphic novel, Ministry of Space. I ought to do some more aviation-related userpics, but that's the one I stick with for now.
