Edinburgh Dusk
Sep. 16th, 2007 10:40 pmExperimenting with High Dynamic Range and Tone Mapping; taking three pictures with varying exposures and combining them via Photomatix Pro.

Things I've learned from this:
- Even with a tripod, getting good alignment can be difficult.
- Long exposures, telephoto zooms and gusty wind do not combine to make sharp pictures.
- HDR / Tone Mapping is a very impressive technique, but it's hard to avoid tone fringes with contrasty subjects.
Even so, I'm pleased with the results and want to try more.
