War of the Glasgow SF Extravaganzas
Jan. 4th, 2006 03:56 pmWhilst updating the links on my Woking Martian web page I discovered that there's going to be a touring production of the War of the Worlds musical in April, conducted by Jeff Wayne himself. And - in my second entirely coincidental plug for Concussion today - it's being presented in the Glasgow Clyde Auditorium, aka the Armadillo, the week after Eastercon.
Which is actually a relief on two fronts. Firstly, however nice it might seem to have the event as an added attraction, it would have completely thrown our programme into confusion if we'd had a massive sfnal extravaganza on, say, our Saturday night. And secondly, I suspect that at the climax of the production the whole Armadillo is going to rise up on vast metal legs, level the SECC with a heat-ray, and then shuffle off in the direction of Central Station. Not that there's anything wrong with this per se, but again it would complicate our programme no end.
