War of the Glasgow SF Extravaganzas

Whilst updating the links on my Woking Martian web page I discovered that there's going to be a touring production of the War of the Worlds musical in April, conducted by Jeff Wayne himself. And - in my second entirely coincidental plug for Concussion today - it's being presented in the Glasgow Clyde Auditorium, aka the Armadillo, the week after Eastercon.

Which is actually a relief on two fronts. Firstly, however nice it might seem to have the event as an added attraction, it would have completely thrown our programme into confusion if we'd had a massive sfnal extravaganza on, say, our Saturday night. And secondly, I suspect that at the climax of the production the whole Armadillo is going to rise up on vast metal legs, level the SECC with a heat-ray, and then shuffle off in the direction of Central Station. Not that there's anything wrong with this per se, but again it would complicate our programme no end.

Presumably, it wouldn't have to observe the intricacies of the one-way system either. I wonder if such an object would be available commercially ... ?

I have tickets for the Nottingham stop of the tour. Wanted tickets for the Birmingham stop, but they sold out way too fast.
