My, wasn't that a convoluted exercise in recursive self-referential fantasy? But it was certainly fun to see David Warner being given a role with more ham in it than a medium-size pig farm...

If you're a LoG fan, you'll probably enjoy it, and the basic plot premise, whilst not entirely original (e.g. Last Action Hero) is worked through very well. Probably my only criticism is that the writers seemed to feel that they should use the move to cinema to up the ickiness factor beyond what they'd get away with on TV. But you can definitely tell that Mark Gatiss enjoys writing sf/fantasy, and clearly relished the chance to push LoG a lot further in that direction than in the original series.
