Jon Agar, formerly of Manchester and now at UCL did a lot of work on Jodrell Bank (I think it may have been his PhD topic); have you read any of his work? I'm thinking particularly of 'Science and Spectacle: The Work of Jodrell Bank in Postwar British Culture'; a book which I really should get round to reading...
