In My Copious Free Time

And this is just catching up on the things I ought to be doing anyway. I'm not even thinking about things I might like to do if I had more time! Aside from the obvious Sisyphean task of Reading Our Unread Books, I'd also quite like to:
...and plenty more, but that will do for now.
Of course, weeks off are not an option right now. Not that I can complain, as at least I am just doing my normal job (except more of it and faster) instead of having an entirely new one somewhere hot and sandy like many friends of mine. I'm still home at night, still getting weekends (albeit on call) and still ought to be getting Easter weekend away for Eastercon.
But I am so looking forward to having Copious Free Time. You never know, it might even happen.

- Do the major update of the Baxterium (the Stephen Baxter website I run) that I've been promising for months to myself, and indeed to Steve.
- Get the garden sorted out before we hit full-on weed growing season.
- Sort out the vast mounds of computer-related kipple (on my shelves and on my PC) and winnow it down to the 10% of software I actually use.
- Go down to my Mum's and sort properly though all my old stuff in her loft.
- Finish reading the BSFA Award shortlists (so I can vote on them).
- Finish reading the Clarke Award shortlist (so I can seem semi-knowledgeable about the books in question).
- Have a serious getting-stuff-done-week for the SF Foundation.
And this is just catching up on the things I ought to be doing anyway. I'm not even thinking about things I might like to do if I had more time! Aside from the obvious Sisyphean task of Reading Our Unread Books, I'd also quite like to:
- Do Manchester University's part-time distance learning course in Radio Astronomy (it's always been an interest of mine, as the intersection between one of my main hobbies and my profession).
- Write another short story or two, or even start a novel.
- Get some formal network qualifications.
- Properly write up some of the RPG scenarios I've been working on for a while.
- Do some more drawing, or even try another form of art again.
- Visit at least one new museum or art gallery a month.
...and plenty more, but that will do for now.
