Going Postal
Jun. 22nd, 2007 10:50 pmJust back from seeing Anglia Ruskin Theatrical Soc's production of Going Postal down at the Cambridge Junction. Absolutely great fun, and overall pretty faithful to the book's plot; Stephen Briggs does a very good job of adapting Pratchett, and here managed to keep a lot of TP's unsubtle digs at privatisation and management-speak. The predominately female cast made for some interesting variations on the characters (Lady Vetinari jarred at first, but actually worked well); von Lipwig came over very well, whilst Stanley took pimply-faced youthful enthusiasm to quite scary new heights.
And talking of post, I now have a letter from Edinburgh University with an unconditional offer of acceptance for my LLM course, thus finally resolving this little panic. Phew, and on now with starting my admissions admin.
