attimes_bracing and I can report that our honeymoon was considerably enhanced by a small gadget that plugged into the mains.

It's the
Anker 40W 5-port USB charger, which I bought after seeing it recommended by
sbisson. It's tiny - the size of a deck of cards - and the only other thing you need to bring is an appropriate mains lead. What you get to leave behind is up to five USB chargers, not to mention the hassle of trying to find sockets for all of them in a typical hotel room.
This unit happily charged two iPhones, an iPad 2 and an iPad Mini overnight, and packed away in seconds - we didn't bother unplugging all the leads, just wrapped them around it and stuck it in a small bag pocket. It's about £20 on Amazon, and I'd highly recommend it if you travel as gadget-laden as we do.

When you're somewhere, such as a Scotrail sleeper bar car, with perhaps a single accessible mains socket, getting 5 items charging is great.
(We have one pair of items it explicitly warns it can't charge, but we don't use those any more so we don't mind.)
