[livejournal.com profile] bugshaw's PC has a reset button on the front.

It's height above the floor is exactly equal to the radius of Heidi's hamster ball.

We used to have a tower unit. Whose power switch was at exactly the height above the floor of the cat's skull, when tilted to scent-mark the surface.

I was so grateful when such switches became programmable to not activate immediately.

Who the hell designs these things? The idea of having critical buttons in recesses so they can't easily be pressed accidentally isn't exactly new - I've seen it on equipment built in the fifties - but I've had at least two PCs that came with a reset button that stuck out at exactly the right height to be bashed by the back edge of the keyboard! Not recently, but within the last 10 years.

Likewise. My first work-from-home machine was like that, with the added fun that the desk I had it on was only just deep enough for the case and keyboard.
