It appeals to my sense of efficiency to manage more than one aim in parallel. Today's walk up Regent Canal to Broadway Market nicely managed the following:
- Verifying that my walking boots (actually, my old combat boots from when I was in the RAF) still fit nicely and aren't going to give me blisters when I'm on a walking trip next weekend;
- Getting my daily dose of exercise, not as intense as normal but still 45 minutes of brisk walking;
- Fulfilling my aim of getting Nice Food From A Local Market on an at least weekly basis.
It also gave me time to ponder my forthcoming legal problem for the moot next week, and to admire the assorted ducklings, goslings, and baby coots and moorhens (cootlings and moorchicks?).
Then home to eat my pickings and watch another episode from the Season 1 DVD set of House I picked up in the recent Amazon sale. I've not watched much House before but am rapidly getting hooked, although I wonder if any plot arc will emerge to supplement the rather formulaic episode structure that this Dead Ringers sketch (sorry about the Czech subtitles) perfectly skewers:
