Cloverfield

You know a movie's made an impression when you come out of the Docklands Cineworld to the vista of Canary Wharf and can't help the mental image of something very big crashing through them...

Much better than I expected; it gets off to a slow start but when the action does kick off it is a relentless rollercoaster. And I use that word advisedly - the hand-held camera style means that this is not a film for anyone prone to visually induced motion sickness. A more detailed review later but for now I'll merely note that I'm suddenly less sanguine about moving to live next door to a bunch of skyscrapers, as they're clearly the monster equivalent of catnip.
