Ten meets Five
Nov. 17th, 2007 10:34 amI didn't see the Children in Need Who special last night, as
bugshaw and I were round at
autopope's feeding him curry and distracting him from his lurgy by teaching him how to play Munchkin Cthulhu. At which is is, I should note, worryingly good. But I've now managed to watch it; for now at least it is available on t'Internet:
I'm not sure if the technobabble was meant as a deliberate homage to the Who of that era, but the whole thing was great fun and included a few nice little titbits for aficionados. An interesting suggestion from Moffat there that the Hartnell incarnation was to at least some extent a deliberate affectation of the Doctor's; I've always taken it that the First Doctor was just near the end of his unregenerated lifespan, but perhaps Time Lords have some control over their ageing process and can to an extent pick their apparent age. And was 'Belgium' another nod to Douglas Adams?
