...after nearly a fortnight in Colorado Springs, during which time I:

Got back home to air dense enough to breath properly, far fewer mountains and a box from the OU only slightly smaller than NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building. Yes, that will be my new course...

You're probably familiar with the saga of my never-quite-arriving iBook.

After having ordered it from Cancom on 24 November, and being quoted successive delivery dates of "7 to 10 days", then mid-December, then late December, then early January, I headed off to the US with a predicted delivery on 16 January. In other words, it should have been waiting for me when I returned.

Instead, I got back to a voicemail saying "we may have it by Friday 23rd." So I called, only to be told that delivery is now expected on the 26th.

This is beyond ridiculous. I ordered my iBook sixty days ago and have had nothing but repeated delivery estimates, none of which have come to fruit. Frankly - and I said as much to Cancom - I don't see why I should believe this one either. Cancom's response is that I am at liberty to cancel the order at no cost should I want. Too bloody right I am, but that isn't the point. I wanted a new computer before Christmas, and am beginning to be seriously inconvenienced by not having one.

I could cancel the order and try ordering another iBook, but would presumably go to the back of the configure-to-order queue. Alternatively I could give up and by a PowerBook which has most of the options I want built-in, but at a price premium. Or I could just buy a PC notebook. Or I could wait, but I'm not confident of progress.

So, does anyone have a contact number for someone in Apple UK I could complain to? Or have any other suggestions as to how to convince either Apple or Cancom (who just blame Apple) that yes, I actually want to buy one of their computers given half a chance?
