I noticed yesterday that the Times was running, on opposite pages, obituaries for Fred Dibnah and Ted Taylor.

It's probably for the best that those two never did a job swap - although it would have been kind of neat to send a 200' chimney to Pluto.

As I live in the States, I'd never heard of Fred before, but the obit is most intriguing. Any of his programs out on DVD? (Not that I have a region-free player, but a way could probably be found.)

I should imagine that few in the UK would have heard of Theodore Taylor, although I knew of him through George Dyson's Project Orion and before that John McPhee's classic The Curve of Binding Energy.
