Dear Apple...

OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion has some very nice features, but what in the name of the late St Stephen of Cupertino persuaded you to remove RSS support from Safari?

That sounds stupid!

Guess I won't be upgrading for a while then...

Is there a Safari add-on for it?

Should add that I have all the feeds I follow friended on Livejournal, but I've found that it occasionally clogs and gives you several weeks worth in one go.

I'm sure both the other people using it are annoyed, too.

In other news, Apple have announced the launch of proprietary Content Aggregation Technology, known as iFeed

It will be closed source, have no compatibility with non-iFeed sites, and be technically inferior to RSS. On the other hand, the interface has sparkly stars, and it has an Apple logo on the front.

"It's the latest revolution in technology! Nothing like this has ever been done before!" said Dave Hipster, 38, a graphic designer from London

Six months later, Apple launched an IP infringement suit against a number of RSS aggregation software providers.

*Much* better RSS readers are available. I use Netnewswire on my desktop, and Feedler Pro on my iPad - both of these sync to Google Reader, so it's a seamless experience.
