Cheapside Construction

It was a nice crisp morning as I took the DLR in today, so rather than endure the central line crush I decided to walk to Holborn from Bank. On the way I passed a rather striking building site at Cheapside...

	Cheapside Construction 1 New building work on Cheapside, near St Paul's. I liked the half-assembled look of the building, like a Chris Foss sf cover from the 1970s. The reddish stripes also caught my eye and I wondered what was causing them - there was nothing obviously red that was being reflected.
	Cheapside Construction 2 It turned out to be the plastic safety net behind the newly-installed glass, illuminated from behind by the morning sun.
	Cheapside Construction 3 Windows being lifted into place high above the City streets.
