Must get my brain a memory upgrade...

Talking in the Tun about early female pilots, I was trying to recall the name of a notable 1930s aviatrix and adventurer. She was of course Beryl Markham, not as famous now as Amy Johnson or Amelia Earhart, but probably was well-known as either at the time.

Didn't she get a revival of fame in the Eighties as West With the Night was re-issued to wide acclaim?

There's even a 1988 made-for-TV biopic: Beryl Markham: A Shadow on the Sun.
